MSI K8N Neo2 Low Sound Volume

I have an MSI K8N Neo2 and I can barely hear the onboard sound. I have to turn the volume to max just to hear anything and the sound of people speaking in movies seems to be at a higher pitch than normal. I just updated the Realtek drivers; checked that all the cables were plugged in correctly and still no change. Has anyone run into this before? Could someone point me in another direction to fix this?
