I did set my ram 133...I will try ram 100 with even looser timings but I am pretty sure it is my cpu..the week 44 are not very good..at 2600 I die within 30min....

that sucks, i should have took note of what week mine was before i installed it. oh well, 2.5GHz is nothing to sneeze at :D maybe try pushing your AGP voltage up to 1.6v?

why does everyone suggest increasing agp voltage...does this increase voltage to NB?

I had at 1.6v before..not this last try though

I went ahead and dropped ram 100 3-4-4-10 2t, tried 3-5-5-11 2t...my chip is just not going to make 2600...at least not prime95 stable...it will get into windows and run even at 2700 but it crashes prime right away

I ram Prime95 for 10hrs at 2550....I stopped it....

i just read that week 44 maxes at 2550. so yes, it must be your chip. agp voltage might raise the nb, but it dosnt hurt anything (from what ive read) so i raised it to 1.6 just to ensure stability.

k, I have to be honest here, I've never o/ced a system (dun, dun, dun :Q) Well, not legit-ly at least. I have used the AI o/c feature on an Asus A8V, but I don't think that counts, cuz all you do is select a % for it to o/c to and it does the dirty work. (in my defense, I would like to say that I was going to try and o/c my present rig, but I found out the agp/pci slots aren't locked :( And seeing as how I'm not fond of the idea of having a card BBQ, I elected not to o/c. Maybe when I upgrade next.)

N E ways, I have noticed that when ppl o/c they have to turn their ram multipliers and stuff way down. Doesn't this negate part of the advantage of the o/c? I don't really understand alot of the ram setings in the bios (took me 2 months to figure out how to get my ram to run at the 2-3-2-5-t1 it's rated for, lol) could one of you explain some of the settings (multiplier, etc.) that the bios has, or at least point me to a source that would? (yes, I realize this post makes me look like an ultra n00b, but I swear I know my stuff in alot of areas, just not in o/cing :D)

hahah its kewl
ocing is basicly is just a few equations with 2 vairables usually.
here they are:
HTT*cpu multi=cpu MHz (200*9=1.8GHz, 3000+). some chips (FX-xx series) let you change the cpu multi upwards from stock, allowing an easy CPU overclock.

HTT multi (or LDT multi)*htt=bus-which-i-dont-know-the-name-to. we will call it X. (X needs to be <1080 at all times, or your system will be unstable. so if you want to raise the HTT, you need to lower your htt multi [or LDT depending on mobo] in order to keep the equation <1080.)

thats pretty much it. sometimes people lower theyre CPU multi's, in order to pump up the HTT (or FSB on Intels), but keep the CPU at a cirtain speed. so, if i lowered my cpu multi to 8x from 9x, my equation would be 200*8=1600MHz, 1.6GHz. in order to compensate for the lost CPU speed, people raise theyre HTT bus. i would have to do 225*8=1800, 1.8GHz to be back at stock proc speeds.
lowering the cpu multi on an amd system is a waste, kind of a dumb thing to do. amd's dont really benefit from higher HTT (fsb on intel) speeds like intel's do.

i need to do some homework, but i hope i helped out a little bit.

joeslaw..if you read Zebo sticky thread above with the A64 the lower ram timings to get a higher fsb and cpu causes little loss in ram performance due to the low latencies on the A64...I am not able to explain much beyond that...

there is small perfomance hit that does not IMHO justify $250-300 for high end ram

I am using pc2700 Kingston valuram 2x512mg stick in Dual channel(that not supposed to work??) with this ram..I paid after rebate about $50-55 a stick..so $100-110...about 6mo ago

the problem is for me...o/cing is YMMV and always seem to come up a bit short of others o/cing numbers:(

And I generally will not try and get new cpu to get anothe 100mhz or whatever...seems like to much of a crap shoot....here I ma this time buying a later chip and turns out my luck I get a week 44 and seems totypically hit only 2550

Now on Intel system...this memory stuff is different and lower latencies and timings I believe hurts performance more and is not worth it

a big TY for the help guys!!! the info deffinately helped. :) nealh- I didn't see Zebo's sticky, what section is it in? I did however find an o/cing sticky in the cpu/oc section (go figure, who would have thought my question about o/cing would be answered in the o/cing section!? I swear, I hate it when I do dumb things!) It was made by UberL33tJarad (am I the only one sick and tired of ALL variations of the word elite?!? If you actually still use it, you should be forced to write "un" before it! ..... hey that actually sounds cool "uN3l17e..... but I digress) Have you seen the video at the begining of that post? Holly Crap!!! I think that is something we've all wanted to do, but haven't had the courage/ money/ blast shield that is required  If you haven't seen the video: GO WATCH IT NOW

Thanx again guys, from your uber uN3l17e friend! (I'm tellin' ya, it's gonna catch on! :D)

I just got my neo2 a couple days ago and I really don't think its noisy now that I hear it myself - I can't discern it above my 1300 rpm zalman hsf
