Dear Customer,
The only difference is the Platinum has onboard firmwire, while the F version does not have onboard firewire.
Sincerely,

I had the NEO2-FIR, which i think was the same save for an extra infrared port. Its a good, stable board with a lot of room for upgrades. I did eventually end up upgrading to the NEO2 platinum, and I'd reccomend that one first. But this isn't a bad board... i had my winchester up to 2.4 with it. Just make sure if you have a venice that you get the latest BIOS, or it won't work.
Good Luck!!

I believe that the NEO2-F is a VIA Pro chipset, and the other is a Nforce 3. I made the switch because I had heard that the Nforce was better for gaming and was a better OCer. My top fsb on the FIR was like 240, but I didn't really push it that hard. I'd still reccomend the Platinum, if anything because so many people have it and it will probably be supported much longer.
