i have msi 865pe board w/ p4 2.8c@3.5

or

msi k8n neo2 w/ amd 64 3000+
i want to know which one is faster on regular application and playing games like hl2.

i have pc4000 (ddr500) ram
ati 9800 pro/xt
2 x 80 sata raid hd
1 x 200 ide hd
1 dvdr drive
generic 600 watts psu


which brand of psu should i buy for this config?

you are not limited by your RAM. personally i got 2.7 (see sig) but id say on average, expect 2.4-2.5

Its pretty hard to get 2.6-2.7. I would expect 2.4ish. Depends on your steping.

right now i am running p4 2.8@3.5 on 1:1 ratio

if i am running amd64 3000+ on pc 4000 (ddr 500) on ratio 1:1 .

what is the max speed i can do it.

will it pass my p4 oced speed or not.

is amd64 3000+ = p4 3.0 or not.

sorry i mean the cpu speed not the mem speed.

should i sell my ram and buy a tCCd ram better if i am buy amd.

or just keep my ram?

You won't see a dramatic improvement in performance moving to the A64..

Personally, I would do it though, because the A64 is a lot easier to cool than that overclocked P4 (i.e. I can run that A64 QUIETLY). :D

NOt sure about that according to my poll, but if you think 25-30% is hard then I guess so....

If you do the research, buy the right components, read the ample threads of settings, quirks, etc YOu have a reasonable shot at 2.6ghz, IMO....
