So I'm reading the manual to this board, and it says to remove the backplate from under the CPU socket, and it has pictures of a person peeling what seems to be an adhesive strip off the plate.

When I unscrewed the socket and got to the backplate, I noticed it was firmly attached to the board. Should I apply more pressure to remove it, or were these processes already done at the factory, and ready to use straight out of the box? MSI has been neglegant in answering this question for me.

Any help is greatly appreciated, as it will either save me a lot of work and a CPU, or give me peace of mind.

Thanks guys,
Ian Ellis

Well it's a small metal plate maybe about 2x3 inches on the back of the motherboard, under the CPU socket... and the guide says remove the sticky adhesive and paste it onto the motherboard... but it's on there pretty good so I don't wanna try forcing it off and breaking it... anyone got any bright ideas?
