I need something that isn't causing problems but that overclocks well, with good onboard sound.

Any thoughts on that boards?

Thanks

Once I set up my Asus I'll let you know how it is. I'm not expecting it to be a good overclocker, though.

The Asus board I ordered came doa. I should be getting the msi board today. Asus has know problems with overclocking, while msi has some known problems that seem to require little work arounds.

Aya. - where do you plan on getting the MSI board from? Everywhere I check doesn't have it in stock.

I just setup my K8N-E ... It is having problems. It boots into the bios fine, once booting off the hard drive, floppy, or cd it will reset. Seems to be graphics related. The floppy memtest will boot until the gfx comes up. Hard drive will boot until xp splash screen. I am using a radeon 9800. Cpu temp is 38c. I have tried different mushkin and corsair memory. Also after it resets there are gfx artifacts on the post and bios screens. Fairly disappointing.

I am going to keep playing with it. Try the bios update. Use one stick in the 3rd dimm slot. Try some older 2700 ram.

you may just have gotten a bum board, you should not be having those agp issues. What power supply are you running? Also for the secondary power adapter (for the 9800) what else do you have running through that line, could be a power issue?

I am using an enermax 465 watt ps. The 9800 has nothing else being powered on its cable chain.

Can anyone tell me if the K8N-E has a LED light on the network adaptor? I have made a little progress with my new board. I was able to install windows on a new hd with an old crucial 2100 stick (previously tried mushkin 3200 2.5 and corsair 3200 2.5; using an old xp install and memtest floppy failed to boot with immediate restart when any gfx were displayed). Board is still acting flaky. I cannot get my raspppoe to connect. No LED on mobo, LED is active on DSL modem. I bent over in the corner with a cigarette lighter and there doesn't appear to be a LED? The a7n8x next to it glows nice green.

When booting to windows splash screen the screen flashes briefly with a horizontal gfx line, it also does this in windows when initially loading. Also had screwy post gfx on the crucial 2100 at one point (I have rebooted so many times I forget when that happened). My radeon works fine on other mobos without this prob.

I have already RMAed it. Just trying to get this thing to work stable. put the mushkin ram back in and it now boots off this new hd xp install. Wish I had a refund and not replacement only on this thing, then I could buy one local for the weekend. :-|

i got the k8n-e deluxe. now listen closely... Everything was working fine. The boot up was sooo fast i can't even blink. it was running smooth until the next morning, i turned it on and everything boots from the motherboard but it doesn't show any display. I got a geforce 5900 plus a clip of 512MB PC3200, an athlon 64 3200 and a 460 PSU and an wanabe alienware case. lol. everything was working perfectly on the mother board itself but i see no display. tried all the things this forum has posted and the one that asus themselves emailed to me. tried all of that and still didn't work. might as well sending this back but guess what? i have to wait for another week just to get my stuff up and running. If i were you, I'll go for the MSI. I might sell my ASUS board after they fix it for cheap like around 50 bucks. lol. yap really don't need crappy stuff. anyway, that's my review for today.

My K8N-E deluxe has never given me problems. It's running a 3200+ overclocked at 2.4 just fine.
