Hey all,
I just put my 64 bit system together: Athlon 64 3000+, MSI K8N Neo Plat., 2X512 Crucial Value select(2.5 CL) and stock CPU cooling. I am pretty knowledged when it comes to overclocking Athlon XP's, but I have no clue with the 64's and this board. I tried setting it to do an auto overclock in the bios and I wasn't able to reboot. I dont know if I have to change the voltages manually as well for this to work or what. Also, there are a lot of settings dealing with HT and such that Im not used to. Can someone direct me to a link with some info or just give me your two cents? Thanks

Grimmett,

Try setting your ram timings to auto, and lock the agp/pci bus by setting your agp slot speed to 67 or any number higher than 66. Then if it works, you can go back and reset your ram timings individually until you get it where you want it. Worked for me anyhow, I was able to run 250+ FSB @ 10x without overheating with my 3000+ on stock cpu fan, thats about 25% OC. The NEO is really picky with ram, and I can't get my Geil to run at the listed timings, but it runs fine in auto mode, oc'ed or not.
