:| ok here's the deal, just got my new A64 platform today after running an athlon tbird 850 for about the past 4.5 years. im all excited and all of that good stuff that you feel when you get a new computer. i put it all together and start a windows reinstall. everything is going fine, i install sp1 and the nforce drivers from the cd, all the onboard audio and stuff. install my radeon 9800 pro drivers (cat 4.7). for the third time now windows xp crashes with a bsod. (i should have written the error down but i was to mad, and im in the middle of reinstalling for the third time). each and everytime i restart, the machine crashes again. i thought it was my ati tv tuner card because that is the last thing that i did before the comp died. so i pull the card and restart. same thing. i have it down to having a Yamaha CDRW-F1 and a LG GSA-4040B in a master slave config on the secondary channel(lg is master). when i try to insert a disk into the yamaha while the lg is in use, the thing poops on me. and continues to every reboot untill i take the cd out of the yamaha. then i can get back to windows. but thats not the end of it. i shut it down and with NO CD in either drive, the thing goes to the error and goes through a cycle of reboots. i would like to have both drives in my computer, so anyone have any ideas?? i just downloaded the newest forceware drivers on this machine and will try them here in a sec. ive been at it for bout 3 hours and i want to play UT2004, not screw around like this.
