MSI K8N Neo hung at Platinum screen (pre-post)

Hi I have recently got the following

1 x Sapphire Radeon 9600 THE BEAST ALL-IN-WONDER® 9600 PRO Lite (Wit (9600
beast)

1 x TWINMOS PC3200 512MB DDR400 CL2.5 OEM (5518)

1 x AMD SEMPRON 3100+ HT SKT-754 RET (semp 2800)

1 x MSI K8N Neo Platinum (K8N Neo Plat)

But I cannot get to post ..... the leds show 2,4 as green and 1,3 as red

I am not sure what I can try... apart from swapping each part over...

does it power up normally?
This might sound strange but disconnect your keyboard.

Friend of mine had an old keyboard with made it go to sleep mode when ever he booted his comp.

that board doesnt like alot of memory, did you check msi.com (or whatever their site is) to see if its compatible?

Interesting but I did note that in the K8N Neo Test Report that came withe the mobo that TwinMOS M3G9J16A-TT was ok in any slot and it passed their tests..... hmmm I am not sure.... I am in a jam cos the supplier only does Corsair or TwinMOS. Thanks for your comments - I will take this up with the supplier.

I recently had this happen to me with a brand new MSI K8N Neo Platinum. It turned out that my problem was a hard drive. I somehow shorted or otherwise killed the hard drive I was using in this new rig and after that happened the system would hang on that Platinum screen when I restarted.

I was still able to hold down DEL and get into the CMOS to make BIOS changes. Try this and disable that Platinum image from being displayed. It's keeping you from seeing some status messages as the board attempts to recognize the components or whatever it's doing. there might be some helpful info shown there fo you.

I bought 3 1g sticks of Transcend pc-2700 RAM. One of them was bad (and just happened to be in the pair that I opened first). It caused this exact problem. I thought the memory (brand) wouldn't work with the board, but in the end the other two sticks worked just fien ad the bad stick wouldn't work in any of my machines (definietly bad). Check your memory.
