question: I have read that the mb has some issues with sata drives. after further trolling it was mentioned that you could avoid this by NOT using ports 1 and 2 (data corruption). To get around this it was suggested that you connent your hard dives to ports 3 and 4. If this holds true, and I attach a mobile hard drive....will it create any problems....

any comments on this or my proposed set up .... be my guest...

What type of mobile HD? USB,IDE,SATA,serial???
If you have choice choose a USB drive.
Not so sure about data corruption on SATA ports #1 & 2,but it's best to avoid those ports for your boot drive, since when loading Windows you'll need a driver diskette to install the SATA drivers so those 2 ports can be configured.
However I think it was mentioned that if you're using WinXP Home or Pro SP2 retail CD,you might not have to,since they included them now? Maybe someone else can elaborate and confirm my belief?

Personally I'd just use SATA #1 & 2 for your HD's and get a USB port. drive. Not sure if you already bought the port. HD
The USB ports on this board work great and there are plenty of them.
