MSI K8N Neo 2 and Venice seem unstable/flakey.

I used MSI's liveupdate and flashed to version 1.B (which was the latest)

Sometimes I cannot get into the bios until I shut off my computer and restart.

Also, I get a wierd blinking white error message before windows starts.. i forgot what the exact message was but it doesn't seem to have any harmful effects.

What BIOS should I be using?

I tried the latest BIOS but rolled back to 1.8. I got the same issues. The message that flashes on the screen is something about a ROM. It doesn't stay long enough for me to read it all though.

Bah, i dislike this new 1.B bios too :(

It's been giving me stability issues i didn't have with the 1.8 one, & now i can't flash back since i still haven't gotten my floppy workin'...

You can use the windows flasher to flash back to the old BIOS n7. Just download the BIOS separately and relace the 1.B bios with the 1.8 bios and you are good to go. I did this very thing myself a few days ago.

Hmm, you're right!

I never even thought about that.

I guess when it asks where you want to download the bios to, you just copy over that one with the alternative one.

Damn, i'll have to try that.

Also, i wasn't having stability issues due to the bios i don't believe.
It seems i was having a ATi drivers issue, though i guess the new bios could have triggered it...

Hmmmm,.. yeah I've tried a lot of them. Lot of the modded and beta's. I'm back to the 1.8, seems to be the best all around.

n7, I'm using CAT 5.8 for my X800 Pro and don't notice any problems. What kind of stability issues were you seeing?

And I have a question for you all: I asked this over at NForcersHQ but it may be a while before I get an answer there. If I want to get a San Diego core chip, which is the oldest BIOS I can use that will support the chip properly?
