I don't like MSI motherboards...

Course the only good thing about this mobo is that it has PCI-E 16X, so no shared bandwidth for video cards :)

Anyone buy from this place before. The "happy face" on the website scares me. :)

eWiz rocks. Good price for this board, but I never thought we'd see the day where a $190 motherboard was considered hot!

no need to be scared. The happy face is new but eWiz is great! I've ordered many things from them before. They have the best price for many products and have excellent service.

is this the same motherboard that got kicked in the ratings by HardOCP because there is some bug that can't be fixed?

did they finally fix it?

There's an oddity that cant be fixed, but I dont think its a "bug" per say
You need a power supply with a -5v rail. Since -5v was removed from the atx12v specification
http://www.formfactors.org/developer%5Cspecs%5CATX12V_PSDG_2_2_public_br2.pdf
Many modern power supplies dont have that rail. Unfortunately, MSI designed the diamond version of this motherboard (the one with the creative sound chip) to require it.

At least, thats the way it was in the initial msi diamond board. They might have fixed it in this plus version

So make sure your PSU has it before you buy this mobo, or you might have to buy a new PSU, an older one.

edit:
Normal diamond (non plus):
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=638
The very last thing on the page mentions the -5v requirement.
The plus page:
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=710
Doesn't mention it. So they might well have fixed it
However it does reccomend at least a 450watt power supply with a 18A supply on the 12v line.
