MSI K8N Diamond No Sound without -5 V, any fixes?!

Hi!

I just bought a used MSI K8N Diamond Motherboard along with a Antec SmartPower 2.0 500W PSU. To my horror I discovered that the Creative sound chip only produces EXTREMLY low sound without the -5V.

Is there anything I can do to fix this (short of buying new components)?

steal them ?? if your good at lock picking that could work. or maby if your big and have a gun that could work too .

Dear Customer,

For the K8N Neo4 Platinum that -5 volt rail is not needed, only the SLI motherboards with the creative audio require the -5 volt rail, because the creative audio is powered by the -5 volt rail from the power supply.

This was in responce to a email I sent just researching different boards..

Short end is.. You need to get a Different PSU

I was under the impression that this is something that has been fixed in the newer versions of the K8N?

You might try emailing MSI. There might have been an RMA fix for this situation.

There CAN'T be a fix for this, unles they convince Creative to design a whole new chip... which isn't going to happen.
