New MSI bios released today that fixes the K8N Neo Platinum temp issue with Newcastle based A64s.

Mine went from showing 70C to 43C on the CPU and from 50C to 35C on the system temp.

I know I am not the only one with this issue so go get the new bios and give it a shot

based off the responses from the MSi forums. Its a hit and miss for some. Proceed with caution.

My amd64 3400+ reads great @ 39C idle and 46C load with the factory 1.1 bios. So I will not be upgrading.

Just be warned...

It depends on the CPU core. Clawhammers read fine, Newcastles were jacked. This definately fixed my Temp readings for my Newcastle core, but as always with bios updates YMMV

Well, I don't know what to make of this bios. Sure, my temps went down, but I'm now reading cpu 25c, case 45c under load. It's just as bad, only in reverse.

During C'n'Q mine is showing:

CPU Voltage 1.07 v
CPU Temp 44 C
System Temp 45 C
Fan Speed 800 rpm (Thermal Take Silent Boost)

Not sure if this is anywhere near realistic, when was the last time you saw your CPU temp LOWER than your system temp.

Wierd.

It went, but it didn't go well. I bent 2 pins because the cpu was stuck to the heatsink. I was near tears, because I made the pins as straight as I could, but it wouldn't post. After the 5th try it posted, and seems to be ok now.
