I recently built an A64 machine and had planned on using Corsair xms400pro ram (2x512mb) in it. Problem is, it wont boot with that RAM in it. Tried lots of combonations, but it just wont boot. Boots with crucial pc3200, however. Am I out of luck or is there something to be done about this?

It sound like you have bad ram. Did you try using 1 stick at a time? My gig of xms4000pro gets along fine with the msi k8n motherboard.

Yeah, I tried it one stick at a time. Ill try the RAM in another computer to see if it is bad.

What I mean by it not posting is that the heatsink fan will not even spin. It doesn't beep, It just sits there. The PSU fan spins, along with the case fan, but otherwise it just sits there.

I could. But why would it work with other RAM? That doesn't make any sense to me. Im about to try the RAM in another computer and Ill let you know if it works.

Ok, the RAM does work in my p4 system (3.4E, D875PBZ). Does this make sense to anyone? Muadib, what BIOS version are you running on your k8n?

Well, I just reflashed the k8n with the same BIOS it had and now everything works like a charm. Both sticks. I have no idea why that worked, but it did. Thanks Muadib for all the help! :)
