Hi Everybody,

I've got a MSI K7TPro-2A and a IBM 45BG 7200 ATA 100 HD, and when it boots up, I see the chart with all of my drive information and it lists my hard drive as ATA 33. Has anyone seen anything like this before (and if so, do you know how to fix it)?

Thanks!

To start check to see if you have the drive set to auto in your bios settings. If not set it to auto and reboot.

Yeah, I have it set on "AUTO" in the Bios, but I didn't notice the EIDE Bus Master setup program on the CD. I'll give it a try -- thanks! :)

Doh! Installing that program made my Win 2k installation unbootable! :) hehe

So, I'm re-installing. Will keep trying to play with this to make sure I'm getting to take advantage of this drive.

make sure that you use an ATA66/100 cable, and also I think IBM has some utility for changing from udma/33 to 100 iirc.

thanks

Aha! That must be it. I had two cables (one for my CDROM drive) and one that came with the motherboard, and I bet I mixed them up. I'll give it a shot. Thanks!
