I received this board in error, waiting for the Gigabyte GA7dxr. If I dont plan on overclocking, is this board OK or should I return it?

I will have TBIRD 1.4
256DDR RAM

thanks for the help.

im not sure how stable it is, and how it performs. do a search on the forums for "msi" or "k7t266" to see what others think. you can also go to anandtech's motherboard forum, which would most likely have more information on it.

The MSI K7T266-R is a very stable board.Should you return it?...well if it`s not the board you ordered you have two choices, send it back or phone the company and ask them if you can keep it,rather then the Gigabyte you are waiting for.

I can keep it if I want too, thats not the problem. I just know how it compares to the Gigabyte GA-7DXR. Any other input?

I have done research, but I was just wondering how users here would compare them.

Thanks.

I think you should just keep it if you dont plan on overclocking, even if you do overclock the K7T266 will work out just fine. You just need to get the newest BIOS, which is v1.4, and make sure you install the newest 4-in-1 BIOS.
