Yesterday I got my new K7T266 Pro and first I did was upgrade the BIOS 110b. Everything looked good at this moment (btw TB 1.3, TNT2 Pro will buy a Gforce3, 128 MB DDR - ordered 2x 256 MB but not received yet, 2x Maxtor Diamondmax plus 60 on IDE3/4, 48x cd and pioneer DVD on secondray IDE connector). Now I created the raid with performenc setting (raid0). Satus of raid is functional. I started to install Win2k. Boot form cd press F6 to insatll Promise raid driver V. 1.30 Bld 60. I saw my raid made an partition with 12 GB formating (NTFS) was fine and Windows copyed there files. After rebooting I got an error win2k.sys unable to read. After the error I did the same but I used FAT32 to format my boot partition. After booting into Win2k againg there was an read error.
Now I booted with a floppy Win98 went to dirve c: and made scandisk. Scandisk reprorted various errors (FAT1 have errors will replace with FAT2, wrong size reporting and so on). It is very frustrating. I searched a lot of usergroups but I not find andy problems like my. Itrey diefferent BIOS versions and settings but allways the same.
I delete the array and created again booted to Win98 with floppy made fdisk created a partition formated it ... Now I run scandisk everything looks good - now I copyed from cd the directory I386 and the system stopps after 2 minutes and brings up CAN NOT READ FROM DRIVE C !
After this I tested my hdd's on the other IDE controller and the drives was running w/o errors. (I had the drives befor in my other system - also no errors)
At the end I tryed to makt a mirror (Raid1). At the time the raid starts mirroring promise coms up with IDE0 error to check your hdd.
I think the corntroller is bad or this hdds not work with this on board controller.
Any hint?
Thanks
