I have a K7T Turbo, which, according to MSI, can support up to AthlonXP 1800 [http://www.msi.com.tw/support/cpusupport/cpu_support.php?model=MS-6330+V3.0].
On the other hand AMD says that it can support up to AthlonXP 1900 [http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ProductInformation/0,,30_182_869_4348^4378|109_1_XP,00.html]

Since I'm upgrading from a Duron 700 and want to get the most from my mainboard, could I assume that it can support the 1900 processor?

Thanks in advance.

Curious which bios version you have?

Per MSI Support it only takes v3.0 to support XP1800. Have same MB with v3.1, and will hang on for others' replies.

I think I would go with what MSI states. On the BIOS page for that board, right where v3.0 is listed it states:
K7T Turbo & K7T Turbo Limited can support only up to Athlon XP 1800+ CPU
All that in nice RED font. I'd take that as a definative answer. Otherwise YMMV and so will your bank account. ;)

I just put an 1800+ on my K7T Turbo v3.0 a couple of weeks ago and so far it is running a little bit faster than the 1.2Ghz Thunderbird I had on it previously. I was thinking of going higher, but I wasn't going to push my luck after I read the MSI webpage for CPU's supported.

well the book that came with the motherboard says it can support only up to 1.3, and i cant get mine to work, i have a xp1800+ and the K7T Turbo LE. is there something i am doing wrong??? the 1.3 i had in there fried so i went and bought the xp1800+,and tried in the board and the DLED said that it wasnt able to get video initialization or early chipset initialization, i couldnt tell because the diagram was vertical and the led's are horizontal, in either case i thought i fried the board because it wouldnt work, so i went and bought the exact same board and now the DLED says that the processor might be bad. wtf??? any ideas???

K7T Turbo Limited Edition CPU Support
Here it says that your mainboard can support up to Athlon XP 1800, IF you have upgraded your BIOS to version 3.3 (revision: 3.0E with BIOS version: Award 3.3). Have you done that?:)

There is also the possibility that your new CPU is burned too. I had bought a new 1200 duron for a friend and I had 4 red DLEDs on a K7T Pro2. I tried it on my board and I had the same result. Finally it was returned and replaced with a new one and everything was fine.
