I have an MSI K7T Turbo and when I turn on my computer after hours of being off, it freezes on windws start-up. (an the windows ME startup screen.) when I reset, I have to select Nnormal from the manue or it will go into safe mode. After the reset th computer starts up normaly. And if I shut it off later it still starts normaly as long as it does not have to much time to cool and reset itself.

Here is my system:
1,2 GHZ Athlon 266,
300 HighPower PSU up to 1.4 GHz.
MSI K7T Turbo BIOS rev. 2.9
Crutial 256 MB PC133 CL2
ATI XPERT 128 16MB
Maxtor 15GB 5400 RPM HD (2R015H1)
Guantum Bigfoot 4 GB.
Acer 40X CD-ROM.

The Duron system it was in before had no such problems.
Please help me remedy this.

Thanks

I used to have a same problem when I used the motherboard w/1gig tbird. I tried all the hd related files from MS with no avail. I wiped out C drive once or twice, then the problem went away.

So it is windows and software related? Is there any other way to fix it like maybe upgrade the operating system?

Thanks

Don't know about that.
I was using Win98se.
I guess it's not a hardware, since nobody has same problem then.
Good luck.

Please anyone.

What confuses me most is that is runs fine after the restart, even if I completely shut it down and restart. It is like it needs some time warm up or something. Any suggestions.

Thanks
