Do you know, I am having terrible luck since I bought my AMD T-Bird 850. My 1st mobo was an Abit KT7-RAID which was VERY unstable and had appalling overclocking abilities (FSB wouldn't even increase by 1Mhz!!!). My current mobo is an MSI K7T-Turbo R. I bought this because it was reported to have amazing stability (which it does), but I can't for the life of me get my Pioneer DVD-103s working properly with it.

Basically, on the MSI it can no longer read DVD discs (film and data) without crashing after a very short amount of time.

Anyone got any solutions? Oh and yes, I HAVE upgraded the BIOS to the one that is supposed to fix Pioneer DVD problems (i.e. wk7t_turbov25)

I hope someone can help, otherwise it looks like I'll have to try ANOTHER motherboard (this is getting expensive!!)

Well how about this, I've just solved my own problem! I thought some people might like to know the solution though.

You know that 20 second pause on the initial screen that the K7T Turbo does, well I was just reading some past forum posts searching for a solution to get rid of it, and one person came up with the solution that plugging and hard disk into IDE 1 or 2 on the board (ie not the RAID ports) solves the 20 sec wait. Well I tried this with one of my old hard disks and low and behold the wait vanished, it flew through to the Fasttrak screen! Amazing eh? But heres the REAL bonus! Not only did it solve that, but also solved my DVD problems as described above. Don't ask me how this works, it just does. So there we have it, this mobo seems to really dislike not having a hard disk plugged into IDE 1 or 2. Jeepers! Looks like I have a new addition to my case now. Have to use it for MP3's or something!

This is a problem MSI needs to sort out though. Here's hoping.
