MSI K7T Turbo problem - any news of refund/replacement?

I have a MSI K7T Turbo (no RAID), and have problems running at 133 FSB. On the motherboard is printed MS6330 ver 3.0 (no B).

Now I'm wondering if I got something defective. I have heard that certain VIA northbridges are problematic, but I can't remove the heatsink over the northbridge to inspect it.

I have heard rumours that VIA or MSI are giving refunds/replacements for these defective motherboards. Is this true? How can I get mine replaced?

Thanks for any tips (including how to get the heatsink off)!

I have the exact same problem here !

We ordered 2 mobo's MSI 6330 (no raid) ver. 3.0 with one 1.2Ghz Athlon and one 1.33Ghz Athlon.
Upon assembling both mobo's gave led-error 0100 (wich indicates memory problems) and a constant series
of long beeps, with both jumper J17 (fsb-speed) on and off tested :(

The memory works fine (installed it in my old pc for the time being) ...

Please let me know if u got a solution.

If it is a recognized problem by MSI, I suppose we can simply go get another one at our hardware-supplier.

what speed memory and FSB are you using? if you use FSB of 100 you can use pc100 or pc133 memory if you use FSB of 133 you can only use pc133 memory according to msi.

I tried all possible combinations.

It is a 256 MB PC100/133 memory stick I have.

I tried that stick at both 100Mhz FSB and 133Mhz FSB and in different memory banks.
I allso tried a memory stick from my old pc (128MB PC100) at both FSB-speeds and it didn't work :(

Allso tried a BIOS reset, didn't work.

The problem I've heard is this: certain VIA northbridges (those with code beginning with 1EA0 or 1EA4) do not run stably at 133FSB.

This is despite having PC133 ram, doing the MSI dance, closing the L1, and L7 bridges, etc.

I have mine running with bios revision 2.7. MSI has a beta bios 2.8B2. You have to get it from them. It is supposed fix the issues. It did on a friends pc. Before 100fsb only to 133fsb stable. The beta would cause my machine to lose partial secondary ide usage,ie; dvd rom drive.

Problem is,

my mobo won't even boot !!!!!

I can never do a bios upgrade if he won't even go past memory and processor check :(
