I built one for a customer on recomendations that MSI is a nice stable board.
I can't get it to post now. Replaced power supply, CPU, Hard drive, ram and video card.
I hit the power button and no lights come on the CD or floppy.
I get a message from the speaker which I can't understand.
I replaced the battery and checked and rechecked all connections.
Apparently the Fathers Son put the sleep connector on a set of pins on the motherboard for sleep mode.
Could this have shorted out the bios.
They also took a vacuum to it, when I told them not to do anything about cleaning it, and call me and I would come over and show them how the proper way,
Could the bristles from the vacuum cause static and fry the motherboard.
I warrenty my work, but I'm not paying for a new motherboard that was abused.
Should I charge for a new motherboard and the labor.
Any suggestions on what I can do to get it running again.
Iv'e built many computers and this is the first time I can't get it going.

Static can zap it pretty quick. I consider that negligence on the customers behalf. Swap w/ a known good mobo and watch it fire up.
