Has anyone else had a problem with not being able to install W2K with this onboard audio??

I keep getting hardware conflicts on install right after detection and screen flicker...

It says to contact my hardware vendor....blah ...blah....

It's gotta be my audio...right?

Disable and try again??

I'm running an MSI Pro2a in the other room with Win2k Advanced Sever.
Sound works great.
Have you installed the 4.29 VIA drivers?
Try that if you haven't.

"I keep getting hardware conflicts on install right after detection and screen flicker..."
I took that as meaning you had the OS installed and the detection process for your hardware drivers was taking place.
You don't need any help.

List the components that you are trying to install.
Typically if you try to put any device in the 1st PCI slot, it will have an IRQ conflict with the video card.
Your symptom points to an IRQ conflict of some kind.
If you are using a "Live" card it will reside happily in the 3rd PCI slot.

You just haven't given enough information for anyone to really help you.
All we can do is hit and miss.

I only have a nic in the last slot, and I changed that once too.

That's it...I'm using onboard audio for now.....

Thanks for the info on the LIVE card as I will get mine back from my other PC soon.

To successfully install Win2K on a Pro 2-A you have to disable all the onboard sound in the BIOS. After installation re-enable sound in the BIOS and install the sound drivers.
