Hello all,

This my first post here. Here it goes...

I am planning to buy an MSI K7T Pro2A. Does the Taisol CGK742092 fit in this motherboard? If not, what else should I use? What should I use, the thermal paste or thermal adhesive?

I planning to overclock a Duron 650 with an Enermax 450Watts PS.

I would appreciate all help.

Hi, I just recieved my PRO2A board and my Taisol 742 today and test fitted it and it does hit the copper wound piece(forget what its called) on the top right corner of the heatsink. I just broke off the upper right fin and cut the corner (only a tiny piece) off the heatsink, then took a file to smooth it out. After doing that it fits without hitting anything, I might shave a little more off the corner just to be safe. As long as you have a hacksaw and file its no problem only took about 10 mins. I dont have my chip yet so I dont have it up and running but I doubt it will effect performance at all. I'll have a Duron 750 on Tuesday and probably build it Wedensday. If you dont feel like modifieing it you might want to look at a diferent cooler, but this one is soposed to be really good and quiet to boot, so I figure its worth a little time. Good luck.

Same here...I just put mine together this evening and had to file away quite a bit on the corner to make it fit.

i was going to order a TaiSol cgk74..or whatever it's called, but after taking measurements i found that it would hit the coiled power stepper (cant remember the name for it, but it steps down the current). So I decided to get a FOP32-1... i'd rather avoid screwing with my heatsink... for now atleast.
