MSI K7T Pro2-a when does it come out?

I read that this board is coming out. IT's the K7T Pro2-a with the via686a southbridge. i.e. ata-100 support.

Any word on when it will come out?

I have an a7v to trade for it🙂

I have two 🙂 Also I think the via686b has the ata 100 support the a version just has regular 33/66.

The "official" release sate is in liek three weeks but MWave was selling them early until some folks whyned and called MSI to bitch and now mysteryously they have pulled it off their site for now.

But NOT before I got my two! Muwhahahahhahhahahah...

They're out, but supposedly not officially until the 20th. I got one of the ones from Mwave, but haven't gotten to test it yet, as I am waiting for fans and a bunch of durons and t-birds.

everyone is saying they got a pro2 I'm wondering it the pro2-A is out.???

I want to trade my a7v for one!!!!!!!!!1

No - the "a" isn't out yet. I haven't even seen any reveiws of it yet. That would lead me to believe that production hasn't even started. They (MSI) just got their PR engine started up for the upcoming launch date announcment.

It does Auto OCING...Has the CLock adjustment in the Bios...Does FSB adjustments and is the most stable MOFOING MOBO around!! Also has Auto Bios update....
Bam

Oh yeah and the "A" has the ATA100 controller built in...

I got the pro2 from mwave and can agree that its the most stable board I've ever owned. I can't make the thing crash. I set memory to the most aggressive settings I can, filled all the pci slots and running the memory at 133. Overclocked a tbird 800 to 950 and ran 3dmark2000 under win2k with directx8 and nvidia 7.17 drivers.

So far a really stable board.

It's been on the Taiwan site for a while. Still nothing on the U.S. site though. Has anyone heard when this board will be released?

According to the MSI Folks @ thier booth at Comdex yesterday, the K7T
Pro2A will be an interum card to be eventually replaced by the K7T Turbo. I don't expect to see to many K7TA Pro2-A cards to hit the market, if at all. The motherboard market is getting as bad as the Video Cards with new interations every 6 months. MSI is trying to compensate for this problem. THats it for now. Radarman

Davegod I wouldnt be in big hurry to trade your Asus off for the MSI board. dont think it to much better than what you allready have.

If asus would come out with a new bios that would get rid of all these annoying stability annoyances and problems i would be fine.

I think I've found it... unless anybody can find another MSI board that meets these specs! I can't, so by process of elimination this *must* be the board... Right? HELP!

it's here

Are you certain? I'm fairly certain the k7t Pro is at this link... which would make the board linked above (with the same part number from MSI, but plus ATA100 and etc) the Pro2-a... Right? What evidence do you see for your identification?

I've got a call in to the seller, so hopefully we'll know for sure soon...

You make a good point. It might be the Pro2 but I don't think it's the Pro2-A because of the IDE controller having the VT82C686A chipset. The first thing I looked at was the mfg. number MS-6330,which I think is for the Pro. The only difference I see with computergates number is a P behind the two numbers. I don't know what that means?

Please post when you find out.
I want one too if your right!😀😉

From what I've read, all three models (k7t Pro, Pro2, Pro2A) have the 6330 model number- apparently, they're slated to gradually replace each other in the marketplace?

I noticed the chipset thing as well... Trouble is, the Pro2 doesn't do ATA100, and this is listed as doing so. SO there's one strike against this board being the Pro2A and one against it being the Pro2... but I still think it's got to be one or the other!

I've still been unable to get anyone knowledgeable about this board on the phone at the seller (their salespeople are in a different building than the boards, so can't physically go look at one... They all agree that this is likely to be one or the other, but nobody can tell me for certain which one!)

According to tech support at the seller, this is a case of the same board accidentally being entered twice in tehir system- and both are the K7T Pro. So no Pro2 *or* Pro2A! Oh well... At least I found a definite answer before I ordered on the gamble!
