MSI K7T Pro2-A...Tribes2 or my CDROM got it unbootable?

OK, my CDROM wasn't working right. I took it apart and cleaned it out. It appeared to have the Tribes2 CD cued up. Start T2...load mission. Says I need the CD, and the drive starts making nasty noises again. Hit OK.
The whole comp powers down.
Reset the bios, no good.
It will not initialize (fans come on and it stops, all LEDs red, HDD light on). Help?
