warm deal? nice price and you can actually go pick up this board, call for stock first tho. so here's the deal. Drive north on osgood for about .5 miles, to atacom. get a quote for a system with the msi board ($111.95). then drive back .5 miles to Fry's, and show them your quote, and get $40 off their price ($149.99). pretty nice if you ask me, a Fry's msi board for $111.95 my friend and i just did this today =)

Excuse me if I sound stupid, but I thought if you drive to get quote from atacom, why not just buy the board there and save the trip back to fry's and the hassle for pricematch?

May be you need to buy the whole system there? But they will quote you on all the parts separately.

well i dunno.. personally i'd rather have the fry's guarantee (ok.. yes i know it's frys) over the atacom one. have you ever been to atacom? gives me the impression of small/shady/might not be in business very long. plus, i don't know if their board was oem or retail.. good thing frys didn't ask =)

i really wouldn't trust fry's at all either. You find open boxed items EVERYWHERE.

One time i saw a c. Orb that was not only $30, but also opened. The real kicker was that the Thermal Pad had already been melted!!

I don't trust fry's to a certain degree... but then again i've never been to Atacom. Sometimes these small stores can be very trustworthy if you get to know the owners.

I would rather spend my money at a small/shady/might not be in business very long place than Fry's.

Agreed fxsts. I'd rather spend my time shopping at Fry's, and then drive the 0.5 mi and buy at Atacom. Having said that, though, I'm off to visit the Fremont Fry's tonight as they're the only game open at night.

My friend brought a Sealed Netgear Router from Fry's and when he get home, he stared at a nice Book for 10 mins because inside was a book instead of router, I would not shop at fry's. He brought it back to fry's they refuse to do anything about it, except to contact Netgear. Fry's is suck!

Microbarn's an alright company (they're the ones who have it for $100 + shipping, was $112 for me). Got the K7T Pro2-A and it's currently in my rig.

Well, I actually bought my pro2a board from attacom. It was in retail box, of course. I ordered it 2days before Thanksgiving day, so it took loooong time to get me. If you live around the store, why not buy there.

I think Microbarn is cool. I bought a BP6 from them and then it went dead after about 6 months. I was able to get RMA from them even though I had lost all my invoices and stuff. And they were quick too.

Fry's suck! But i love their "lifetime warranty" policy... as long as that item is in stock, hehehehe

When you buy stuff from Fry's, only buy something which are 100% factory sealed. Don't buy anything OEM like CPU, memory, and alike. And never buy things with the 'INSPECTED BY FRY'S' lablel on them becaus ethey don't.

Once, I have seen an opened Geforce DDR box (I believe CL) with a SDR card inside. Obviously, someone had bought it and returned it with his old SDR card.

Think about buying the card without knowing it, and then, try to return. This time, however, you happen to get a return guy with a little more intelligence than the other apes working there. It's scarely.

Actually, Fry's does a really good job of shrinkwrapping returned products so they actually look like they're factory sealed. Guess it's one thing they're good at.

If you're shopping around for parts in the Fremont area, might also want to check out USSA and citycom, both have webpages (add a .com at the end of each one).

1greatguy,

What can you love about Fry's :(? On the contrary, I love when I am returning stuff to them.
