I just got this board but I can't boot up my comp now. I only put, the HD, and Ram into the new motherboard and still doesn't boot. My fans work, even the ones getting power from the motherboard. The only thing I can think of is the ram. I put in two 128mb PC133.

any beep sound? how about the LED? if it doesn't have anything at all, you have problems with the CPU probably

Make sure the video card is pushed all the way into it's slot. I noticed it was a pretty tight fit on my board.

Did you check the Diagnostic LED code on the MB? If all green, should be fine. If all red, sounds like
the CPU may be damaged or not installed correctly. I belive rominl already mentioned this, but the LEd is
a very nice tool for troubleshooting.

Also, did you try each 128mb ram stick separately?

All red could also indicate a motherboard problem. I had a problem where a few of the traces on the motherboard were severed and this condition occurred. If you think everything is ok then try to re-seat the CPU a few times. Sometimes new sockets need a little "breaking in". Hope this helps.

This same thing happened to me with this same board.

Turned out it was the RAM.

I simply returned my chip and got another (different generic brand) and it worked.

Athalon boards are very sensitive to RAM quality.
