I got K7T Pro2-A and a graphics card MSI 8818 (GeForce 2 MX). Both should support AGP 4x w/fast writes, but Sandra and other tools show that the AGP is running only in 2x mode. Any ideas how to get it work in 4x? Thanks.

Go into BIOS -> Advanced Chipset Features -> AGP-4X Mode and set it to "Enabled".

Also make sure when you install the Via AGP driver(in the 4 in 1 drivers) it`s installed in Turbo mode.

Well, I did that, and I installed the VIA drivers in turbo mode, too, but it seems to have no effect. It's like the board ignores that. The AGP driving force is set to AUTO. Any more ideas? Thanks...

Check your AGP aperture size in Bios(advanced chipset) should be around 64mb or so,too low & this will force the Video card to run in 1x AGP mode I believe.

From what I've heard, the VIA KT133 chipset has instability issues when running 4x. I have the MSI K7T Pro mobo and the Creative Annihilator 2 MX and have tried vigorously before to get it in 4x mode. Doesn't seem to want to do it. I's almost as if the card or bios is keeping it in 2x mode because of the problems. Also, there really isn't a performance increase between 2x and 4x AGP. Though one would think you should be able to have it in 4x anyway if it is an available option.

I've got my GeForce DDR running on my K7T Pro-2A running in 4X with no problems. It's even running stable at 4X with SBA enabled (which my older system wouldn't do).

BlueIce,any version will do,as long has your board & graphics card support 4x mode I`ve used 4.24,25a, & now 4.28 drivers they all work great in 4x mode, check you have your 4x AGP mode enabled in BIOS,& use WCPUID to check current mode.
