I got a Radeon 32MB DDR for my new Duron 600MHz and MSI K7T Pro motherboard and I'm having some problems.. Here's exactly what I did.

Brang the card home.. Uninstalled the TNT2 M64 drivers that were loaded on my system (then turned off the computer and took the card out). Put the Radeon DDR in, turned the computer on, loaded Windows, let Windows find the Standard VGA Adapter driver, then reset. I let Windows load up again, then I ran the driver installation program on the Radeon CD-ROM. Reset the computer. Windows loaded and everything was okay. I played Unreal for about ten minutes and then it froze.. The music or sound that was playing at the time kept repeating while the game was froze. I tried pressing CTRL ALT and DEL, but it didn't do anything.. Nothing worked so I had to reset. Windows loaded and then I tried to play Quake 3. After playing it for about three minutes, it did this exact same thing. Reset, loaded Windows, then tried Unreal one last time.. Did the same thing basically as soon as I started a tournament.

I went to the ATI site and downloaded the newest version of the special purpose drivers that said that they fixed system hangs with the KT133 chipset and Athlon processors.. Still does the exact same thing. I really don't know what to try next. The card isn't overclocked, the heatsink doesn't feel excessively hot.. Doesn't seem like any sort of hardware problem.

The very strange this is how I was having this -exact- same problem on my FIC VA-503+ about a week ago when I bought a Radeon DDR.. The games would freeze after playing them for a few minutes.. No problems in Windows, though. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem?

One tip in Bios try different settings where it says normal, fast,Turbo,I had mine on Turbo & some games not all of them would lockup,so I changed this to Normal setting & everything is 100% rock stable, btw I have Geforce2 MX card so not the same as yours apart from having same MSI K7T PRO board, anyway try that & disable fastwrites,& all video shadowing see if that helps ,you don`t say what ram you have anyway there is a setting that is slower then normal, one for 8/10ns try that as well.If you are using PC133 ram make sure you have the HST CLK +33 selected,& don`t forget the CL2,CL3 setting for ram CL2 for cas2 ram & CL3 for cas3 ram.

I don't think memory timings are to blame, as PlunX didn't mention of lockups with the previous TNT2/M64 display adapter. Indeed, this could be some kind of driver incompatibility problem. Try installing newest VIA AGP drivers. Also, you could play around with the AGP driving force values in the BIOS, try different settings besides the default "auto". Setting affects on how much power Radeon gets from the AGP bus.
