MSI K7T Pro 2?

I heard somewhere on this thread that the MSI K7T pro 2 will be release sometime this month, doesn't any body have any news about that?
When will it be out?
How much too?
Thanks in advance

well, from what I heard (not words from MSI though), it will be out in mid-november. some people told me that it is available in Hong Kong already, but I have yet to confirm on that. Also some people have seen some online stores selling it, but again have to confirm on that.

my guess it is should be around 125 to 130 bucks, my total guess.

offical word from msi is:

The K7T Pro2 will initially be available in the beginning part of November
but will not feature ata100 nor will it be bundled with the ata100 promise
card like the Pro 100 is.

In late December that board will come out the Pro2 100.

For me, I'd go with the K7T Pro 100 available now with the promise controller
and then upgrade to the pro2 100 in a couple of months and sell the old
board on an auction site.

Judging on what you know now, what might be the difference in $ to go ATA100 with the Dec. board. I hate to play dumb ...but what real advantage is the ATA 100? .... and is it in the form of a card that attaches to one of the PCI slots?

well the difference between 66 and 33 was negligable
and most say the difference between 66 and 100 will be
the same, but if you have the AWESOME!! new
IBM Ultra 100 75gxp drive, you might as well
get a controller that will squeeze every ounce
of it's spec.

The other advantage of ATA100 is that it leaves
four ide ports (master and slaves) free for various
other devices, such as ide burners, zips, second drive etc.

I think costwise, based on what boards bring on auction sites
when they're still current and desireable, I'd say it might
cost 30 bucks to upgrade in December, which interestingly enuff
is exactly how much it would cost to add a promise ata100 controller
to your board.

but the onboard controller would free up a pci slot for another device.

Course none of this is even applicable if a guy doesn't have an ATA100 drive
yet (read: IBM 75GXP)
