Pull the power connector out of the motherboard, and reattach a few times. I had one where the plastic molding was to tight, and it had to be 'worked' before it could get seated all the way down.

A friend is currently having the same problem, I hope someone will have an answer for this.

A little more information and a few more questions.
I replace his motherboard with mine and everything worked fine.
With his board in the case and only the cpu and memory plugged in, nothing happens when you plug in the power cord.
Could anything besides the motherboard cause this?
When he recived the mobo (msi k7t pro2a) the clear CMOS jumper was set in the clear data position. I wouldn't think that a new board would be shipped with the jumper set that way. I don't know for sure, because I bought my board used from the for sale forum. I'm starting to think that this mobo was RMA'ed and the company resold it. I would be more sure if someone would reply and let me know what position the JBAT1 Clear CMOS Jumper was in on a brand new board.

I have the MSI mobo too and no, it was NOT set to clear CMOS when I got it. I've had no problems with the mobo whatsoever I might add. The only complaint I have is, I tried setting FSB to 120 and the computer wouldn't post, and having it turned off for a few minutes didn't help either. You have to clear the CMOS to get it back online - on that point, ABIT's boards are cooler.
