MSI K7T Pro 2-A working great... some questions...

I just got my MSI board a few days ago, along with a Duron 600 and an Alpha PAL6035 cooler (which is a bitch to get on by the way). My board has the 7 4700 capacitors, which seems to be good according to people here, although I have no clue. I am running the Duron at 600, have tried overclocking it yet. So, on to the questions already :)

Using motherboard montior 5.03, im getting three temp reading for three sensors.. 21, 23, 17 degrees celcius. Is it just me, or is that pretty cool? How accurate are these sensors, and where are they located on this board?

Also, I am thinking of getting the Loctite window defogger repair kit stuff to join the L1 bridges... any reason not to buy this? just checking one last time, I can't afford to waste $11 CAN, I'm poor :) also, how do I apply this stuff?

Lastly, are there any tweak guides or special things I need to know for this motherboard? seems fine, been running 3 days straight very stable, although only at stock speed. I'm just wondering about the new beta bioses, etc, whether or not I should upgrade, etc.

Thanks

Check here for BIOS setup: OrangeDelta

I believe the temperature sensor is located in the socket A, not a probe type which touches the core. They are unreliable as an absolute measure, but may tell you some relative info.

I bought the defogger kit, you'll use it in the future if you ever upgrade, or you can always sell it to a friend. I didn't like the number of people that were having to redo the bridges after a pencil job.

You can check MSI's site for the latest BIOS, whethter you decide to flash is up to you. Here's the link MSI Updates. I didn't see much in the list of bug fixes. People have downloaded a beta BIOS from the German MSI site, I'm not a big fan of Beta testing BIOS unless I have a fairly major problem.

That's pretty cool. Most people's temps i've come across are around 35c. Mine ranges from 35-40 depending on what i'm doing.

Oh, you can use the utilities that came with your board such as PC alert or Fuzzy logic III. Those tell you the temps too and I'd trust those since they came from MSI.

I don't trust my Fuzzy Logic temperature readings. At 1.008GHz (112*9.), it says that the CPU is 32 C. after playing UT for about an hour. I highly doubt that's correct.

JMC, if the latest is used (skipping from original to newest) does it incorporate all the other fixes too? I would assume so.

What is the highest bus speed anyone has gotton with a duron and their pro2-a? I cannot get above 108, running my 800 at 8x108 till I find some loctite.

Also, has anyone had any problems using a Soundblaster Live! (i have a value) in PCI slot 6? Windows would not even detect it there, no problems in any of the others. Thanks

I've heard of few problems with the Live!

Every so often, my Vortex card gets "re-detected" by Windows, which, the first 2 times, meant I had to skip "installing", dig out my drivers, install, and reboot. Annoying. So feel blessed that it merely required a slot change.
