MSI K7T 266Pro2 and 1gig of ram

Using the above motherboard, and had 2-256mb Crucial PC2100 modules installed. Decided to get an upgrade for another machine so I splurged for this one too. I ordered 4 pieces of 512mb All Components PC2700 modules. Don't ask why. I put two of them in my KT3 Ultra ARU downstairs and put two in this machine with the K7T 266Pro2. On this machine though, I can only get Windows XP Pro to boot when one stick is in. I tried two, tried one of each, and all different slots, and even tried mixing crucial with the new stuff and it just won't work. Right now I have the one stick in and its working fine. I have the newest bios, and I am stumped! Any clues?

I know this board only runs up to a 266mhz FSB for DDR vs the 333mhz this mem can handle.

Many boards are supposed to have registered modules after a certain size, check in your mobo manual. Sometimes this doesn't matter, sometimes it does.
