I am having difficulty installing my pair of the Best Buy Black Friday 5400rpm 60gig Western Digital Hard Drives as RAID 0 on my new MSI K7T 266A ? RU. I?ve set them up as an array on the Raid Bios. Usually it makes it through the first part of the install process fine. The problem is after the required reboot . . . after it scans the IDE drives and checks the RAID array the screen goes black except for the blinking cursor in the top left corner.

Sometimes after formating the hard drive during the install process I get the message ?Windows could not format the drive blah, blah, blah . . .? I think this might be because I have tried to format the drives every which way.

Things that I have tried:

In the bios it is listed to boot from the FAST TRACK Raid ? does this have to be the first boot option?

Installed Win 2000 separately on each Hard drive = Hard drives work

Used EZ-Bios to change the ATA 100 to ATA 66 (read somewhere that Windows 2000 does not recognize ATA 100 right off the bat)

Tried using EZ-Bios to format -- later read the EZ-Bios does not support Win 2000 yet

I have a back up machine (KT7-RAID) ? so I can access the disks in question if needed
