Out of the box & without a Bios update , what is the fastest Duron you can use with this board ? I have a Duron 800 in it right now . Will it take an 1100 without a bios update ?
I suppose the question needs to be read more slowly ...........................
(Out of the box , with "NO" bios update , how high of a Duron will the K7 Pro2-A support ?)
The link you sent me to shows that with a 2.7 bios update , you can run a 1.2 Duron ............ Really , I did'nt know that j/k
I have this question listed on 4 forums & have yet to recieve an answer ............. Well , the answer I'm looking for anyway 🙂
Should've listed that I've dug through MSI's website looking but nothing has come up .
Hi, CorCentral
I have an MSI K7Pro2-A and I ran a Duron 650 at 900. My understanding at the time of purchasing the board was that it would take up to a 1 GHz Duron. I wanted an inexpensive upgrade, so I looked into getting a faster CPU, specifically the 1.2 GHz Duron. I had to flash the BIOS to v. 2.7 to utilize the new chip. Again, I believe that out of the box, 1 GHz was the limit.
