Im using the Nforce 2 MSI K7N2L motherboard with the realtek onboard sound. I have some creatie 4.1 speakers, and the front 2 work fine, but I cant get the back 2 to work. I have selected the box that lets me use the line in connector for the rear speakers, and even tried the mic in to see if they would work. Nothing seems to be working here. The rear 2 work if I plug them in the front connector, but all 4 wont work at once....... any ideas?
thanks alot

Same problem here as well. I've installed the latest drivers and can only seem to get the 2 rear speakers working. Strange thing is the install program doesn't install the nForce control panel.

Sure wish msi would give better directions on this, I had the same problem with my kt4vl in november. easy fix...

Open the sound panel(double click on the volume in the system tray.), make sure Advanced Controls is checked under the options tab. now get a rear channel selection from the properties box under the options tab. click on it's advanced controls and put check in the box to switch the line in to rear channel. no go to the control panel, open the sounds option, click on advanced on the bottom and make sure quadrophonic speakers is selected as the type of speakers you have. viola! instant front and rear channel sound, if you want 4.1 just make the appropriate adjustments with mic in and switch the control panel options to surround sound.

if you don't make the changes to the sound settings in the control panel the volume control ignores the checkbox to switch from line-in(or mic-in) because it thinks you are just using el cheapo stereo speakers.
