The motherboard is fitted with a Amd 2700 xp processor, Geforce4 mx 440, 1024 MB PC 3200 DDR value ram. The problem is, the mother board powers up fine, but the monitor stays blank. I tried shorting cmos at jbat1. This did'nt help. I've been tyring to get this computer running for while. some one please help. I even bought a bigger power supply (400 W) . Did'nt matter.

There is no onboard gpu man. I tried another GEfx2 card on the board..wont work either..both cards work on another motherboard. I have no clue what is happening.. I tried disconnection ide devices and tried to start with the basic setup..tried flashing cmos. nothing works.

There's a jumper on the board that lets you change the FSB from automatic (133/166) to force 100mhz. I had a K7N2-L for a few months, and that's what it took to get it started once. Resetting the CMOS would also be a good idea.

Remove the video card and reinstall it. Make sure you have "AGP" selected as the primary source in your bios.

try what gerbil333 said. set the safemode jumper to force bootup at 100mhz bus and see if there is a screwed up bios setting that is causing the problem. could also be the ram. I had major problems with Kingston value ram with that board. One of the bios updates supposedly fixed the problems but i got rid of the board by then.

I got the same board with a Barton 2500+ and haven't had any problems with it. Have you tried attaching that D-Bracket to see what type of error code you get?? Do you have another system to test your system parts on? Test out the CPU, RAM, Video, etc?
