i just installed a new HDD and installed winXP. i use dual ATI graphics cards, and the nvidia board doesn?t like it (until i get updated drivers installed). now, i need to boot into safe mode to install the updated nvidia drivers and video drivers (otherwise when i boot normal, the computer crashes almost immediately when i log in). the problem i have is the i need to press the f8 key to get into the windows boot menu. on my motherboard, when i press the f8 key i get the motherboard boot menu, allowing me to select which device i want to boot from. how can i disable this? i checked the bios - couldn?t find it. is there any other way to get into winXP boot menu without F8?

thanks

Perhaps you are pressing F8 too soon? BTW, I had the same issue with a Shuttle SN45G and ATI card, the problem was due to drawing errors in my case. Installing in safe mode when you manage to get there will indeed clear it up, I also suggest you disable 8xAGP support&fast writes in the bios, and enable vid ram caching if the option is available.

i seemed to figure it out. if i pressed F8 it would bring me to the mobo boot menu, by pressing F4 to exit that, the computer would continue to boot normal. I could then press F8 again to access the windows boot menu. everything is working great.

thanks
