Hello everyone,

We purchased MSI (MS-6570 K7N2 Delta ILSR) 5 motherboards.
Numerous problems have been discovered.
One board died after I loaded High Performance defaults.
Clearing CMOS or switching jumper J10 to safe mode didn't help.
Diagnostic led indicates memory failure. We attempted to replace
memory modules with another name brand and it didn't help.
The second board, which is running Windows XP, reboots
with no apparent reason. If we try to copy files from CD-ROM
to a hard drive (E:\files.abc to D:\New Folder\ in our case)
system will reboot and partition table gets corrupted, there
is no way to restart back to Windows XP. Except to delete
damaged partition tables, and reinstall Windows XP.
Less important problem is system intermittently fails to detect
and boot from USB floppy drive (NEC UF0002)

Our setup is Athlon XP 2800+ with 512 - L2
RAM 3 x 512M DDR400 (Hynix or Infineon)
Disk IBM 20G with NTFS (Partitioned 64k blocks with Partition Magic 8)
USB Floppy Drive NEC UF0002
BIOS: W6570MS v7.1 042103

Decision has been made, as not continue trying remaining boards
Entire batch in the process of being RMAed and send back to dealer.

I can't say I blame you. That one with SNDS (Sudden Nforce Death Syndrome) is a killer. I sympathise. Evidently the other one did not have that problem. Or am I assuming too much? Did you try different memory with that one too?

In the spirit of scientific inquery, I would have liked to have seen whether the other 3 mobos had problems. I mean there are limits to bad luck, and you were due for some good. I know that some people have had good experiences with that mobo (although I'm not one of them. Not yet. RMA replacement in process.) You know, mobo makers CLAIM they test the mobos before they leave the factory. I wonder what happens between then and the time they get here. Do gamma rays zap them? Do teenagers sneak into the warehouses and kill mobos? Maybe Red China is sending saboteurs?

Must agree with KF.

Try the rest of the boards, and TRY not to run them at their highest timings.

If you are filling all 3 memory modules, remember and take notice that you must lower (memory timings) them to a safe degree.

I recomend that if you:

-Use 2 memory modules, use them in slots 1 & 3 @ sync 333 FSB, 2.5-6-2-2-1

-Use 3 memory modules, use them @ sync 333FSB, 2.5-7-3-3-1 w/no Bank Int.

Might help.-
