ive had my eyes on the msi k7n2 delta-ilsr motherboard for a while. the main reason i like it is because of all the features that the motherboard includes... lan, serial ata, raid, firewire, usb 2.0, along with the accessories.

what do you computer people think of it?

any personal experiences? especially regarding ram types. i want to put a dual channel kit of 512mb (256mb x 2) and then a 512mb stick into the third slot.

Well, I was going to get one of those also,.... I didn't. I got the K7N2 Delta L instead. My distributor talked me out of the ILSR, said almost every one that he had sold had been returned for one problem or another.
Dunno if that helps ya or not, but I guess you can take that with a grain of salt,....

Please let me know what you decided about the ILSR. I am considering buying one myself and would like your input.

Thanks!

I read about a few people having bad experiences with the ILSR version so I purchased a Delta-L instead. I am glad I did because my Delta-L has been running very stable since I purchased it, it even allows me to run my xp2500 mobile at 2.5ghz for that bit of extra cpu power! :)

Just so you know, I have been using a Delta ILSR for close to a year now with 0 problems. My wife and son both have a Delta L and my 2 computers I have at my office also have Delta L's. All the motherboards have been extremely stable and fast.

I would not hesitate to purchase an ILSR again. It's been a good board for me.

I had problems with the -L. Not recognizing AGP texture acceleration and freezing with sound looping in games.I dunno but i switched to an Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe and it is most definately better than the MSI board. But if your OCing the NF7-S is probably your best bet along with the DFI NF2 Ultra Infinity. But hey this Asus is awesome and rock solid.

I had a K7N2G Delta-ILSR and it was a great board. The only downside is that it was picky on memory, the expensive GeiL PC-3200 wouldn't work, but Corsair TWINX512-3200LL worked (PC-3200 Low Latency Matched Pair). Other than that, great board. Sound quality was SUPERB, the new mobo drivers include a sweet update for the sound control panel. OCing was pretty good; ran a 2500+ Barton @ 3200+ speeds. No complaints here :)

I will definetly agree that all the MSI boards seem to be really picky about memory. I sell alot of the K7N2GM-L boards and they are EXTREMELY picky about memory. The only memory I have been able to get to work in them reliably is Crucial and Corsair. Anything else and they have all kinds of issues.
