hello,
i have just ordered the msi k7d master-l dual-prozessor-motherboard, but i haven't bought the cpu yet! today i have read that the amd xp thoroughbred (xp 2200+) cpu's can be used also as mp's (L5-mod - same mod as palomino cpu's)! does someone know if it really works? will my new msi k7d support them? and if yes ... up to which speed? i would like to buy two xp 2200+ thoroughbred, "repair" the L5 and overclock them to the maximum! what do youthink about it?

p.s. what is the max speed i can get from two xp 2200 and what cpu cooler do i need?

thx xxpyton

Well I don't know about the chips personnaly but I have heard they will work, but you will do better per price to run a pair of 2000+'s, as they are less than $99 each. The 2200+'s will not give that much more performance. Heck I am running dual 1600+'s

And you know you will get very little of a overclock on a dual board right, maybe 3-9Mhz more at BEST. I have had a Asus and now use a Chaintech 760MPX board.

But check out forums.2cpu.com , a board for dual CPU systems.
