I got my MSI K7 Master and plugged in my chip. Booted it up, nothing worked. the 4 LED lights inside signified that it was a bad CPU. So i sent it back to AMD. They tested it in 2 other motherboards and it worked! It booted up all the time! So they are sending back the same chip! Was there something i was missing? I have been waiting to get this thing together for 3 weeks now. any suggestions?

Unplug everything except your vid card and see if it works. I had the same prob, it turned out to be a bad IDE cable. If it works plug each thing in one at a time to find the bad part or cable.

yeah i think you pretty much need it. its most likely a cable or part. if not than i'm not sure how to test your mobo, ram, and vid card.

when you run into this problem, you start simple and then get complex.

start by taking out everything, all pci cards, leave only video card and cpu and ram.. see what happens.

if it works, add a part at a time until you have it narrowed down. if it doesn't work with just video card, then try a different vid card, diff ram,etc
