MSI k-master mobo... higher proc?

hrm... supposedly i can flash this mobo for a higher proc... but does that mean that i need a lower proc first.. then flash.. then put the higher one in? btw, im tryin to put in a athlonxp1800... i do have a 1200 morgan core here, but...kinda a pain to take 2 cpus out just for this.. btw, im stuck on this part of the boot
