MSI Instructions say: DO NOT FLASH FROM FLOPPY

they want me to boot to the flopyy (winxp pro) and run the flash from the HD.

that doesn't work so well as all my bootable floppies don't read NTFS.

anyone have any good suggestions?

If you create a startup disk with XP Pro, will it read NTFS?

you mean XP Pro 4 disk startup? or do you mean formating a floppy bootable.

anyway, i did it from a floppy and fvcked it up.

everything went smoothly, or so i thought, but on next reboot, it won't post.

damn this a64 thing has been way more trouble than it's worth.

Use MSI live update

Yeah, the easiest and safest way! WHY would anybody use floppy these days is beyond me. Almost all manufacturers offer an update method from within windows.

Live update is probably the easiest, but we did a flash from the floppy just fine. I don't see any issues by doing it at all....

I will have the system fully set up soon so all the rest of the bios updates will be done in the MSI live update app...
