Yeah, I snagged one of these, for my wife's machine, so I can have her system do my transcoding to x265... GTX900 series can transcode nice quality x265 (oddly enough, terrible quality for x264, but who cares when the compression is so awesome in x265?) at anywhere between 4x to 12x speeds. The cost of this card will be more than made up for the savings in drive space when I'm done transcoding my media library.

Nvidia just GPL'ed their NVENC encoder, which means Handbrake should soon be offering this hardware acceleration with their package (and in turn, VidCoder).

Besides that... the 950 is a decent gaming card if you have a 1080p monitor.
