Guru3D's review of the MSI Lightning with TwinFrzr is up here:
http://www.guru3d.com/article/msi-geforce-gtx-680-lightning-review/

FYI the review includes the phrase

that pretty much sold me on it. I know how the 670 is better value but this time around i really want to buy the top. And no coil whine in sight.

1300 mhz core without even upping volts, seems quite good. And as you say, being able to run virtually silent is a definite plus. Anybody know how much this will cost in the states?

Gold plated monitor connectors!?.....is that beneficial?, or just to look at? Have 4Gb versions been established as an improvement in surround vision?

edit, this made me laugh..

Very visible is the blue round GPU reactor. The GPU reactor functions as a power supply module which, when installed on the back of the GPU, it increases current volume by 88%(o_O), reduces power supply noise by 13%, and should improve overall overclocking stability.

LOL

That GPU Reactor, so far, seems like a gimmick. I haven't seen it provide anything substantial in any reviews by sites or users. But wow at 200% TDP limit on the LN2 bios lol. My DC II overvolted and overclocked has hit 150% though. That is insane performance for an air cooler.

If its anything like mine it should be beast and quiet. MSI has always made great coolers and quiet ones at that.

Agreed, my MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III's are silent, and operate well below reference temps. I am very excited about this 680 Lightning as well at the 670 Twin Frozr IV (which unfortunately it no longer in stock at Newegg).

Side note: if anyone is interested in a R6950 Twin Frozr III, i'm looking to sell one of mine.

sad news is that this MSI will likely retail for £530, well above the £400 needed for a basic GTX680. idk what that is in dollars but it won't be cheap.

otoh, if one could land a twinfrzr heatsink and slap it on a palit 680 ...

You can't change the voltage yet so the review doesn't matter. I want to see some Kepler 1.3v runs.

I expect this card to be 599.99 be totally worth it compared to the "Classified" thats 769.99 with the EV bot

The worst part about EV bot it you hook it up once, set it, and never hook it up again.

For 99$.

Makes me look forward to the lightning 680 that much more

Wait what? You can only use it once?

No, you can use it more than once but once you set it, the settings are saved so you can discard it after that.

So once you OC you're done using it pretty much, 99$ for 1 day. I really hate EVGA for doing that.

Just like their use of the word "military grade" which is meaningless. Another marketing tactic.

The card is hilarious. Hardcore users are putting waterblocks on them and modding them themselves for clocks and VRM.
