Might be more of a hassle, but the evga one comes with farcry you can probably sell.

That, and a lot of use that got it when it had the $40 rebate got versions with 216 shaders. YMMV

Is the farcry in the original packaging or is it the disc in a sleeve with a serial stuck to it?

This is $164.38 after $20 Rebate and coupon code - VGA12425 (including shipping).

This is HOT!!! Please update title.

Edit: Don't forget to use live.com cashback for another $5.50 off making this $158.88 shipped! Act fast, I have a feeling that code will be dead soon.

Aw man this is killing me. I was content with either a 9800gt @ $105ish or a 4850 @$130. I've viewed $140 to $190 range as a dead zone for cards. Choices were either aged (9800gtx), not worth the added cost (4850 1gb vs 512) or just kinda silly (2x 3850 CF). Also, I don't game enough to warrant going over $200 for a 4870 or 260. But this is just so so nice.............

Edit: Skru it, got it. Too good to pass up.

Thanks for the updated info...made it a no-brainer. Ordered one myself and had my brother order me another. Obnoxious SLI, coming right up.

Is the 216 that much better?

What I meant by that is, is the 216 so much better that it's the only 260 that's going to be produced now? I thought it was going to be the mid card between the 280 and 260.

They're only making 216's now I believe. I don't think you can get a 216 for less than $220 or so (perhaps more). The 216 has 12.5% more shaders but I don't believe (based on benchmarks) will you actually see that much of a performance increase, save for maybe a few select games. You decide how much more over $158.88 you want to spend for that kinda performance increase =)

BUT...
What's this talk of ...

"What I meant by that is, is the 216 so much better that it's the only 260 that's going to be produced now? I thought it was going to be the mid card between the 280 and 260.'

A new version of the 260 came out with 216 shaders instead of (I think) 192. It's still a 260, just with more shaders.

Just a FYI. The rebate form says not valid with any other discounts/promotions, and it may get shot down if your invoice shows a discount was given to the retail price. Might want to add YMMV to the OP description.

OK, so is the 260 w/ more shaders that great price, or is it the other one?

The original GTX 260 came with 192 shaders, the update recently released (to compete with the the 1GB Radeon 4870) has 216 shaders. The GTX 280 has 240 shaders.

Anyway, the MSI model referenced in the OP is the 192 shader version. Still an excellent buy. These are very hard to find for under $200, and this is significantly under $200. That is assuming there are no troubles with the rebate. Even if there is trouble, final price is still $178.88 which is still a great deal, just not AS great =)

Gotcha....

"Who's on first?'
"Who..."
"That's what I'm asking you..."
"And, I'm telling you, Lou...who is on first..."

Ruh Roh...

I know it's still a good deal @ $178ish.

neither, it's actually a download(the farcry from the 280 rebate is so i assume it's the same with the 260), so i guess you'd just be selling the serial, unless EVGA binds the S/N to acct.s or it's some non s/n version, in which case you'd have absolutely nothing physical to legitimately sell.

Incorrect Takemaru, at least it was for me. I got in on the EVGA deal and FarCry 2 CD in paper sleeve was included in the package. Too bad the 216 core EVGA wouldn't work in SLI with the 192 core MSI I have :(.
