My MSI GT-70 does not want to shut down. The problem seems to have started when we upgraded from a 10/100 router to a gigabit router. The computer and router seem to work fine otherwise but the silly computer will not shut down or it will take way too long.

Unplugging the Cat-6 cable causes the computer to shut down immediately.

Unplugging the cable before shutting down results in a normal shutdown, leaving the cable in will cause a delay in the shutdown...

Any ideas? Running Windows 8 with Classic Shell and AVG anti virus.

The driver is Killer 8.0.2.38 from 2012.

I'm not all that good with W8 so if I need to do something some instructions would be nice.

TIA!

Curiously this laptop had an issue where it took forever to turn on or shutdown before and it turned out to be bad software image/language packs needing a sfc /scannow. I did a sfc /scannow and it didn't find any errors this time so I think this is a different issue.
